(1)        DIPLOMA IN STRATEGICS SECURITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION

(FOUNDATION AND PRE-PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE COURSE)

These are the first and second stages of the institute Professional Programmes. They constitute solid foundation and starting point in the security and safety profession.  The programmes cover basic practical and pre-vocational level including elements of theories of security studies package.  They are modules I and II of the Institute professional training programmes. This is basic professional education management of operation of critical infrastructure protection covering protection of lives, property, facilities, utilities, public assets and security management in a variety of public, private, commercial and residential setting.

 

(2)           ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN STRATEGIC SECURITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE

PROTECTION (SUPERVISORY AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE COURSE)

The course is designed to provide an appreciation at a professional level of the technical and strategic stage of security and safety practice.  Students undertake core modules on the theory, practice and development of security together.

The third and fourth stages of the professional career level of the institute programme which are modules III & IV. it covers combination of work place experience and professional scheme in security management.

It covers practical, creative, experimental, exploratory and interdisciplinary professional studies in security and safety.

The programme provides professional education in theory, design, management of operation of critical infrastructure protection

covering protection of lives, property, facilities, utilities and public assets and security management in a variety of public, commercial, industrial and residential settings.

 

(3)           CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SPECIALIST  COURSE IN INFRASTRUCTURE

PROTECTION AND INDUSRIAL SECURITY

The programme aims to introduce professionals to the advanced study of specialized security operations in commercial and industrial environments in order to equip them for a wide range of careers in the security and safety industry.

This course is designed to produce a working knowledge of the profession of private security, loss prevention, corporate and industrial security. The security internal security, commercial security, career opportunities, basic of protection, security and the law, specific threats and solutions, workplace violence and hazard, retail security and the future of security.

4. CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SPECIALIST COURSE IN CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, DIGITAL FORENSICS AND INTELLIGENCE GATHERING

This programme offers a comprehensive study of collective violence, policing issues, riots, civil unrest and other forms of disorder.  Participants undertake a thorough examination of crime at work, security, risk, crises and disaster management.  This programme promotes standards-based information system to provide justice and public communities with untimely, accurate, complete and accessible information in a secured and trusted environment.

It is a standard programme which is based on an individual’s personal philosophy, professional priorities and life experience.  This training programme is designed to develop culture of information analysis and information sharing within the law enforcement communities for the purpose of safeguarding a nation while protecting citizen’s privacy and civil right.

Holders of WAEC, SSCE/GCE (O/L) with pass in minimum of five papers, Grade II Teachers Certificate, Practising and in service Training course Certificates issued by Military, Paramilitary and Police Training Schools.

 

(a)           Mature Candidates: Five years working experience

–               30 years and above – A minimum of 3 papers in WAEC/GCE

–               Holders of WASC, SSCE or GCE (O/L)

 

DURATION:  Twelve (12) Months

TUITION FEES:  N40,000.00

COURSE MATERIAL: N15,000.00

 

2. ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN STRATEGIC SECURITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION (SUPERVISORY AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE COURSE)

 

Holder of University Degree, HND, and relevant professional qualifications in appropriate discipline particularly security, social sciences, humanity, management, physical sciences Engineering and Technology..

• Holders of OND, NCE or in Security, Crime Management, Social Science, Humanity, Management, Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology plus five years of experience as Senior Security Officer/Manager/Controller.
• Diploma in Security Operations and Management.
• Institute of Security, Nigeria Certificates of Completion of professional levels of Modules I & II

DURATION:                          Twelve (12) Months

TUITION FEES:                    N50,000.00

COURSE MATERIAL:         N15,000.00

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR CERTIFIED SPECIALIST SECURITY PROGRAMMES INCLUDES:

• ISN Certificates of Completion of Professional Levels of Modules III & IV
• Advanced Diploma in Security Operations and Management/Internationally recognized Professional Diploma Certificate.
• Professional Certificate in Certified protection, Professional Certified Investigator, Physical Security Professional, Fraud Examiners.
• Professional Certificate issued by Military or Para Military Academy.
• Graduate of Universities holding degree in humanity, behavioral Sciences and Science and Technology with security and protection background.

 

DURATION:        Six (6) Months

TUITION FEE:    N90,000 (Includes Tuition fees,

Study Packs, Course Material and Certificate)

Date commencement of the programmes 10^th November, 2018

 

PAYMENT OF FEES PROCEDURES

All fees are payable to UNILAG CONSULT at the First Bank Plc, Account No: 2029937936.  It is important you write the Programme Title on the bank teller.  Full details of payment procedures are available in the UNILAG CONSULT Office.

 

METHODS OF APPLICATION

Applications forms are obtainable from Unilag Consult, University of Lagos between 8:00am and 4:00pm (Monday-Friday) upon payment of non-refundable fees of Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000.00) only payable into UNILAG CONSULT, University of Lagos at First Bank Plc.

 

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS AND COLLECTION OF ADMISSION LETTERS

Completed application forms should be submitted to UNILAG CONSULT, University of Lagos not later than 31^st August, 2018 and admission letters for shortlisted candidates are to be collected from the same office.  The list of admission will be posted on line.
