General Entry Requirements for UNILAG DLI Programmes or Weekend Studies
- Candidates seeking admission to UNILAG DLI Programme must meet the minimum entry requirements of Five (5) Credits in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NABTEB/NECO O’Level or its equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics, taken at not more than two (2) sittings.
- Applicants for UNILAG Distance Learning Institute(DLI) programme shall not be less than 16 years of age by 31st October
- Any other equivalent qualifications approved by the University Senate.
The following candidates are eligible to apply for UNILAG DLI Programmes:
- Graduates of University of Lagos or any other university recognized by Senate (only candidates with good honours degrees in relevant disciplines will be considered for admission at enhanced entry level).
- Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) in the relevant disciplines. For this category, please note that only holders of HND with at least Upper Credit will be eligible for admissions at enhanced entry level.
- Holders of recognized relevant full professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, ACIA, ACIS, ACIB, CII, may be considered for admission at enhanced level provided they have five credits at WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

UNILAG DLI Duration:
The duration of Distance Learning Institute (DLI) in university of Lagos (UNILAG) is five (5) years for all the programme. not with standing this , duration of those admitted through Direct Entry is (3) or four(4) years depending on the level they started.
Direct Entry students that started from 200 level will spend 3 years, while those that started from 300 level will spend 2 years.
NOTE: THAT THE LEVEL TO START FROM DEPENDS ON YOUR QUALIFICATION.

UNILAG DLI Certificate is well recognized certificate, because the programme is approved by National Universities Commission (NUC). In order words, the certificate carries the same prestige and reputation associated with that of the regular undergraduate programme
