General Entry Requirements for UNILAG DLI Programmes or Weekend Studies

• Candidates seeking admission to UNILAG DLI Programme  must meet the minimum entry requirements of Five (5) Credits in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NABTEB/NECO O’Level or its equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics, taken at not more than two (2) sittings.
• Applicants for UNILAG Distance Learning Institute(DLI) programme shall not be less than 16 years of age by 31st October
• Any other equivalent qualifications approved by the University Senate.

The following candidates are eligible to apply for UNILAG DLI Programmes:

• Graduates of University of Lagos or any other university recognized by Senate (only candidates with good honours degrees in relevant disciplines will be considered for admission at enhanced entry level).
• Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) in the relevant disciplines. For this category, please note that only holders of HND with at least Upper Credit will be eligible for admissions at enhanced entry level.
• Holders of recognized relevant full professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, ACIA, ACIS, ACIB, CII, may be considered for admission at enhanced level provided they have five credits at WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

1. Application will be in two stages: Part-Time JAMB Registration and DLI UNILAG
2. Applicants for Distance Learning Institute programme shall not be less than 16 years of age by 31st October, 2020. Only applicants born on or before October 31, 2003 are eligible to apply.
3. Offer of admission into programmes listed above is subject to the availability of qualified applicants.
4. On-line Print out O’Level Results Slips are NOT ACCEPTABLE at the point of registration.
5. Candidates awaiting results are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
6. Certificates and not Statement of Result Slips are acceptable for WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO results obtained before 2019.
7. All completed application forms are to be submitted on or before 31st July, 2021.
8. There will be no UTME Examination for Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos.

UNILAG DLI Lectures

UNILAG DLI offers a flexible, high quality distance learning environment, and you will study in a flexible way that work or on the move. this give opportunity to students who may not be physically present in normal setting , such as classroom.

However, during 3 weeks residential programme, classroom lectures holds everyday, .

UNILAG DLI Modules 

A module is a self-contained course that usually lasts for one semester. it covers just one course and is assessed independently of other modules.

when you are successfully admitted, you will have access to your course modules.

UNILAG DLI LMS

UNILAG DLI LMS (Learning Management System) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, and delivery of modules, assignments, and other relevant study materials. The learning management system concept emerged directly from e-learning.

Every DLI student has a username and password to access the LMS to download course modules and do their assignments.

when you become fully admitted into DLI you can access the LMS.

UNILAG DLI Duration:   

The duration of Distance Learning Institute (DLI) in university of Lagos (UNILAG) is five (5) years for all the programme. not with standing this , duration of those admitted through Direct Entry is (3) or  four(4) years depending on the level  they started.

Direct Entry students that started from 200 level will spend 3 years, while those that started from 300 level will spend 2 years.

NOTE: THAT THE LEVEL TO START FROM DEPENDS ON YOUR QUALIFICATION.

UNILAG DLI Certificate:

UNILAG DLI Certificate is well recognized certificate, because the programme is approved by National Universities Commission (NUC). In order words, the certificate carries the same prestige and reputation associated with that of the regular undergraduate programme

Does UNILAG DLI Student Go for NYSC ?

No. DLI graduates do not join NYSC mobilization to serve, but collect NYSC Exclusion Letters.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKES TO GET YOUR NYSC CERTIFICATE:

Five (5) months or thereabout, depending on the NYSC Time -table, further details and guideline on NYSC Exclusion Letters and Registration are on the NYSC site:https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc3/
