GAINING ADMISSION WITHOUT JAMB THROUGH JUPEB
It is quite crucial to get all the require details about JUPEB before you register for the programme. This article will do just that and answer all your questions about the programme.
JUPEB means Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board. It is very similar to IJMB which is also an Advanced Level programme and they are both recognized and approved by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Nigeria University Commission (NUC).
The programme started officially in 2014 through the cooperation of 10 Nigerian universities led by the University of Lagos. However, the programme has been in existence since 2013.
Ever since the official pronouncement, there has been an influx of admission granted to students through the programme into Nigerian universities.

WHO IS INCHARGE OF JUPEB?
Prospective students often ask “who is in charge of the JUPEB programme?” The University of Lagos is the leading partner and the chiefly moderates the programme. Students can find this information on the school’s website.
However, the programme consists of affiliate institutions that students can apply to. Students can go elsewhere for their JUPEB programme as it is not limited to UNILAG. There are approved affiliated coordinating bodies in other institutions both public and private all across the country. This arrangement enables students from all walks of life to apply for the programme anywhere in the country, and to any institution of their choice.
According to report, the JUPEB programme was created to provide an alternative to students seeking admissions, and due to the increasing number of students within this category, the system of using affiliate institutions was adopted to make it easier for students to partake in the programme from all parts of the country.
You can read more about the programme on UNILAG website.

HOW DOES JUPEB WORK?
Upon consideration to apply for the JUPEB programme, the major question among others that comes to mind of prospects is “how does JUPEB work?” The JUPEB programme works relatively easy.
Just like its counterpart Advanced Level programme (IJMB), JUPEB requires students to select any three (3) Advanced Level subject combination that are prerequisite courses or that go in line with the students’ preferred course of study.
By default, English Language is selected as it is a major prerequisite for any course in whatever field – Arts, Sciences or Social Sciences. All of the details are specified in the instruction of filling the JUPEB form
After registration, students will be assigned to their JUPEB study centres where they will be lectured and adequately prepared within two semesters (an equivalence of an academic session) for the JUPEB examination.
After the programme, students will write the JUPEB exam, the result of which will see successful candidates begin to process their crossing over to 200 level in their university of choice.
call for more information, past question, and registration. 09022205421
HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAMME?
Students who enrol for the JUPEB programme will be in the system for within 9-10 month; an equivalent of an academic session in a university. However, the time of resumption of a student before the end of the JUPEB academic year determines how long the programme takes.
Students do not usually resume at the same time. Some students resume six months into the programme and perform excellently well. It all depends on the student’s seriousness. However, we strongly advise that students should resume early enough to their study centers, as this avail them a lot of time to settle in and get proper guidance from tutors.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR JUPEB?
Eligibility is a major aspect of the programme that students should be concern about. Every student should seek to know if they meet the eligibility criteria before they apply for the programme.
When it comes to JUPEB, there is only one criterion that ascertains students’ eligibility for the programme, which is simply the O’level result. Students who are admitted to 200level through the JUPEB programme must have an O’level result with a pass mark in the subjects related to their desired course of study.
Students who are awaiting their O’level result can apply for the programme as well. However, the result must be ready before the end of the JUPEB programme.
JUPEB helps you to secure admission into 200level without writing JAMB. Also, you do not need to write any exam before you apply for JUPEB if you register with a private JUPEB study centre.
For students who register directly with JUPEB affiliated universities, you will have to write a JUPEB entrance examination. This is a mechanism to screen students to reduce the number of students as well as screen them into various departments.
However, there are no entry exams with JUPEB private centres as there is efficient provision for the accommodation of students.
Immediately you obtain the JUPEB form and finalize all the registration process, the next step is to resume and begin to receive lectures in preparation for the exam.
